Periodontal Treatment

Did you know periodontal disease is the most common cause of tooth loss among adults? Most people worry about getting cavities, but preventing gum disease from getting worse is just as important to your oral health. Periodontal maintenance is key to keeping your gums healthy. At Life Long Dental Care, our staff is ready to provide the periodontal disease treatment necessary for good oral health.

Gingival Gum Grafting

Gingival gum grafting is necessary if the gums are showing signs of recession. A gum graft will prevent further recession and damage to surrounding teeth. Our dentists remove tissue from the foot of the mouth and attach it to the area being treated.

Bone Grafting

Often times when teeth are extracted, the bone around the tooth can potentially resorb. Additionally, the bone can essentially melt away if the gum is infected by periodontal disease. The bone can be built up again by processed bone minerals, which your body will naturally deposit new bone cells.

Dental Implant Surgical Placement

Implants are an option for people who are missing teeth, wearing uncomfortable dentures or are not interested in wearing a bridge. The process for dental implants involves placing posts onto the upper and/or lower jaw, providing replacement teeth a sturdier anchor for a more durable function.

Periodontal Maintenance Program

Periodontal Maintenance is the process of cleaning around the teeth and gums removing buildup from the surface of a tooth, and the removal of infection/debris from the tooth’s root. This procedure will help ensure gum disease is being controlled, but while being one of the most non-evasive ways to treat gum disease.

Scaling & Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning below the gumline used to treat gum disease. If gum disease is caught early and hasn’t damaged the structures below the gum line, a professional cleaning should do. If the pockets between your gums and teeth are too deep, however, scaling and root planing may be needed.
